Lumenroot
The bells beneath the roots have been silent for a long time. Miro climbs down with a lantern that lights only a few steps ahead.
The deeper he goes, the less light there is — and the more there is that remembers how things used to be.
Lumenroot is a short, hand-painted 2D platformer demo. Leap between root ledges, wake an old bell with fireflies and answer the Hushlings that charge out of the dark with a thread of light. Somewhere at the bottom, something still remembers.
- About 15 mins of play, from the Root Garden to the Dormant Atrium
- Thread of light: strike sideways, then upward once you find the Rising Thread
- Lanterns that bring you back when your light goes out
- English and Polish
Controls: A/D or ←/→ move · Space jump · J thread · W/↑ thread upward · Esc/P pause and settings. Gamepads work, and phones and tablets get touch buttons in the browser.
Windows: download the zip, unpack it and run Lumenroot.exe (or use the installer). The game is not digitally signed yet, so Windows may show “Windows protected your PC” — choose More info, then Run anyway.
About AI: the art was made with the help of Google Gemini, the sound effects and music with ElevenLabs, and the code with Claude Code; the team designed the game and chose, edited and assembled all of it.
This is a demo - feedback in the comments is very welcome.
